Rimba is a French non-profit organization founded in 2012, whose mission is to protect Indonesia’s biodiversity while raising awareness and involving local communities in its projects
Our actions are part of a comprehensive project aimed at preserving forest and marine ecosystems, based on a socio-environmental approach structured around several areas of intervention: the creation of protected natural areas, the regeneration of biotopes, the conservation of endangered species, awareness-raising, and the development of sustainable local economic initiatives.
We carry out our actions in the province of West Sumatra in Indonesia. Our facilities are located about 2 hours south of Padang, in the village of Sungai Pinang and its surroundings.

The objectives are to consolidate our knowledge, contribute to the enrichment of public scientific databases and strengthen our partnerships with the Ministry of Forestry and the Ministry of Fisheries & Sea for the physical protection of these natural areas.
